The purpose of the African Women in Cinema Blog is to provide a space to discuss diverse topics relating to African women in cinema--filmmakers, actors, producers, and all film professionals. The blog is a public forum of the Centre for the Study and Research of African Women in Cinema.

YouTube celebrates women’s voices

YouTube celebrates women’s voices

As prelude to International Women’s Day on 8 March, YouTube has announced two new programmes in support of women’s voices on YouTube.

The YouTube Office Blog states:

The first is a new, year-long partnership with the United Nations that appoints top YouTube female creators as the very first Change Ambassadors for the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Action campaign. United Nations Sustainable Development Gender Equality.

The second is a global production program across the YouTube Spaces that puts women both in front of and behind the camera. YouTube Spaces Women’s Program
